Students are particularly encouraged to submit abstracts — the AVS Prairie Chapter Symposium is a low-stress event, ideal to help students gain more conference-presentation experience and possibly start their award collection. Students who present posters will be entered into a competition for a share of a $1,000 prize split among the three best student poster presentations (avs.org/about-avs/chapters/avs-regional-chapters/prairie/awards/).
A non-exhaustive list of topics of interest of the AVS can be extracted from avs.org/about-avs/chapters/avs-divisions/ and /technical groups/
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
Submit a one-page abstract to avsprairie2024@mrl.illinois.edu before the deadline of August 23th, following the abstract template (docx file HERE). Include your name, contact information, co-authors (if any), and the format of your presentation (oral or poster). You will be notified of your acceptance around the submission deadline.
Make sure to register for the symposium soon. The early (discounted) registration deadline is August 23 (avs.mrl.illinois.edu/registration).
Good luck and thank you for participating!
